The Joint election observer mission of COMESA, EAC and IGAD to Kenya, today issued a preliminary statement. According to the statement: “The preliminary conclusion for the period up to the polling and early stage of the counting process is that the will of Kenyan citizens has been freely expressed.

The Joint Mission will continue to follow the electoral process and each Regional Economic Community (REC) represented in the Mission will produce a comprehensive final report upon the conclusion of the process.”
